Richard Latten

Studied Dutch law at the University of Leiden until graduation in 1989, followed by a 6-month traineeship with a law office in Munich, Germany, concentrating on general civil law and trademark law. Richard started his professional career in 1990 as lawyer with the Noord Nederlandse P&I Club at the claim handling and FD&D-department providing assistance to Club members consisting of (deep sea) ocean carriers. Richard became an attorney in 1991, specialising in the (international) marine and transportation practice. Various major container vessel operators and railway operators are amongst his clients. In 2002 he joined Smallegange, van Dam & van der Stelt. He is member of the Nederlandse Vereniging van Vervoerrechtadvocaten, Nederlandse Vereniging voor Zee- en vervoerrecht and of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Transportrecht.
